FS Orientation Guide

The Foreign Service Orientation Guide is designed to provide incoming Foreign Service Officers (FSOs) with the information they need to prepare for their careers with the Department of State. Curated by the Orientation division as well as former students, this guide helps FSOs plan for what they need to know, do, bring, and where to go. The app addresses topics such as moving to the D.C. area and securing housing; transportation options around D.C.; planning for children and partners; what to know about the orientation class and training at FSI; and much more.
