Beach Water Quality Forecast

The Environmental Protection Department of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administration Region launches the “Beach Water Quality Forecast” to provide daily water quality forecasts for all Gazette Beaches in Hong Kong that are open for swimming. Utilizing statistical and data-driven models, the system can produce near real-time water quality forecast based on the most relevant and the latest environmental and hydrometeorological data, with a view to providing early warnings to bathers on potential short term beach water quality fluctuations and facilitating early planning of their water recreation activities.
