By connecting Bluetooth® Chestpiece, instructor's controller (smartphone), and simulated monitor (tablet) via Bluetooth®, we achieved a more practical and highly effective simulator at low cost. Heart auscultation linked to an instructor-set scenario is possible only when the Chestpiece is placed on a newborn mannequin.
Also, a tablet, which serves as a simulated monitor, displays heart rate, oxygen saturation, and ECG waveform, allowing the instructor to change vital information via the controller based on the trainee's treatment situation.
Furthermore, the simulated monitor also supports playback of newborn cries. It can be used simply by installing a dedicated application on commercially available smartphones and tablets, and can be introduced at a lower cost compared to traditional simulators.
