About Echo: In-Ear Voice Translator
Echo is an AI driven real-time in-ear voice translator designed specifically for use with AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones.
Other speech translation apps aren’t intelligent enough to know when sentences have started and stopped so they must be told when to start listening and when to stop listening and you don’t get the translation until after. That only works when the conversation you want to translate is planned; when both participants purposely take turns talking. But what about unplanned speech, such as speech overheard in airport announcements, casual conversations at work, in elevators, or coffee shops? There is no need to tell Echo when a person is speaking. It simply starts listening and translating when prompted and continues until stopped.
Some in-ear translation solutions require proprietary headphones, but with Echo, there’s no need to spend extra money on hardware. Use your own headphones and let the app do the work.
Even better: Echo doesn’t require an internet connection for voice recognition and translation. All processing is done on-device, preventing unwanted bills while abroad.
Support for 14 languages and 19 accents.
Including:
English
Spanish
German
French
Italian
Dutch
Japanese
Chinese
Korean
Portuguese
Arabic
Russian
Thai
Turkish
Switch between two translation models depending on your requirements: Accuracy and Speed. When using the Accuracy model, translations are more accurate but take longer to process. When using the Speed model, translations are performed as quickly as possible but may be less accurate.
Echo excels at recognizing and translating voices heard in short form speech scenarios, such as brief conversations spoken nearby, airport announcements, coffee shops, grocery stores, in elevators and others. We are currently working to improve long form recognition and translations, such as in lectures, videos and fast paced conversations. Echo still works in these long form speech scenarios but improvements are coming soon.

Performance is dependent on iPhone hardware. Generally, a newer iPhone will perform better than an older one.
