About oogieCam
oogieCam is a hybrid app created by attaching a
synthesizer and sample player to a video camera.
OOgieCam is a new kind of musical instrument:
it allows the direct conversion of color into music.
OOgieCam applies a unique algorithm to the colors
it sees through the camera. It takes a look at the RGB
values, the luminance, and chromatic values.
These values are converted into musical notes using
one of many tonal scales set up in MIDI space.
Finally, the notes are forced into one of many musical
keys and played using the built-in synthesizer and
sample player.
OOgieCam comes with three ColorPacks, each with 32 built-in patches and
a whole library of dozens of hidden samples which can
be accessed by "rolling the dice"...
There are add-on ColorPacks like Metal Shop, WoodWorks, Urbanity, and more available.
